అగ్ని మాపక నిబంధనలు కలిగి వున్న స్కూల్స్ మాత్రమే రీఓపెన్ చేయడానికి ఆమోదించిన ప్రభుత్వం 

Over 1,000 private, recognized schools in the city are literal death traps in case a fire breaks out. These schools lack minimum fire safety measures and are endangering the lives of thousands of their students.

What’s more, of the total 1,169 schools that received notices from the Fire Prevention Wing (FPW) of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, ordering managements to install fire safety equipment, less than 100 odd schools have complied.

The FPW has decided not to allow schools to re-open in June if the prescribed fire safety measures are not in place. The FPW has also inspected and served notices on hundreds of shopping complexes and malls, hospitals and nursing homes, halls hired out for functions, bars and restaurants etc. they have up to October 2011 to comply with the rules.

Equipment to be installed:

Additional RCC and MS staircase of minimum 01.25 metres width if there is only single staircase ad students per floor are more than 75 in number.

Electrical fittings and other required appliances should have safety insulations.

Fire extinguishers (ISI Mark ABC powder type of 5 kg capacity minimum four numbers per floor).

Hose reel in each floor (for building above ground and first floor)

Overhead terrace tank of 5,000 litres (for ground + 1st floor)/10,000 litres if gound + two or more floors more floors with cellar areas exceeding 200 sq metres (height below 15 metres).

Automatic sprinkler system in cellar if cellar area exceeds 200 sp metres.

Booster pump of 900 LPM if cellar area is more than 200 sp metres / 450 LPM if there is no cellar.

స్కూళ్లలో, ఆస్పుపత్రులలో, హాస్టళ్లలో, ఫంక్షన్ హాళ్లలో, షాపింగ్ మాళ్లలో, బార్ అండ్ రెస్టారెంట్లలో, ఫైర్ నిబంధనలు పాటించాలని మహానగర పాలక సంస్థ తెలిపింది. గత సంవత్సరం మార్చిలో అగ్నిమాపకశాఖ ఫర్ సేఫ్టీ నిబంధనలు అమలు చేయాలని 2154 స్కూళ్లలో, 648 ఆస్పుపత్రులో, 282 హాస్టళ్లలో, 225 ఫంక్షన్ హాళ్లలో, 396 షాపింగ్ మాళ్లకలో, 60 బార్ అండ్ రెస్టారెంట్లలో తనిఖీలను చేసింది. అగ్నిమాపక నిబంధనలు పాటించాలని 1169 స్కూళ్లకు నోటీసులిచ్చారు. 528 ఆస్పుత్రులకు, 184 హాస్టళ్లకు, 106 ఫంక్షన్ హాళ్లకు, 240 షాపింగ్ మాళ్లకు, 9 బార్ అండ్ రెస్టారెంట్లకు నోటీసులను జారీచేసింది.  ఈ సంవత్సరం స్కూళ్లలో అగ్నిమాపక నిబంధనలు పాటించాలని తెలిపింది.
